Kiteboarding Lesson Path
Step 1 — Ground School (2.5 Hours)
Your journey begins on land with Ground School — the essential foundation for kiteboarding.
In this session you will learn:
• Wind theory and conditions
• Equipment setup and kite systems
• Safety systems and emergency procedures
• Kite flight control and power management
This step prepares you to confidently control the kite before entering the water.
⸻
Step 2 — Beginner Water Lessons (3–9 Hours)
Once Ground School is completed, students move into the water to develop practical riding skills.
During these sessions you will learn:
• Water launching and relaunching
• Body dragging techniques
• Navigating the kite through the power zone
• Board control and water starts
• Riding in both directions
• Practicing upwind riding
Most students require around 10 hours of total instruction to become comfortable riding.
At this stage, many riders choose to purchase or rent equipment, both of which we offer.
⸻
Step 3 — Intermediate & Advanced Lessons
Once you are confidently riding and staying upwind, the real progression begins.
These lessons focus on developing new techniques and expanding your skills, including:
• Transitions
• Toeside riding
• Carving turns
• Jumping
• Backrolls and freestyle progression
This is where riders truly begin to explore the possibilities of kiteboarding.
⸻
Ride-Along Coaching (Pro Rider Sessions)
For riders looking to refine technique or learn new tricks, our Ride-Along Lessons offer the most advanced coaching experience.
During these sessions:
• You ride your own kite
• Your instructor rides alongside you on their own kite
• Communication happens in real time through BBtalkin Bluetooth helmets
Your instructor can demonstrate techniques while coaching you step-by-step as you ride.
This is the fastest and most effective way to learn advanced skills.
⸻
Wing Foiling Lesson Path
Step 1 — Ground School
All wing foiling students begin with Ground School to build the fundamentals.
You will learn:
• Wind awareness and conditions
• Wing handling and control
• Equipment setup
• Safety systems
⸻
Step 2 — E-Foil Training
Before combining the wing and hydrofoil, we recommend 2 hours of E-Foil training.
This allows students to become comfortable flying a hydrofoil board before managing both the wing and board together.
This step helps riders:
• Understand foil lift and balance
• Build confidence riding on foil
• Experience their first flights
⸻
Step 3 — Wing Foiling Water Lessons
With foil experience established, students move on to combining the wing and board.
Training focuses on:
• Generating power with the wing
• Standing and balance control
• Upwind riding techniques
• Water recovery and self-rescue
• First hydrofoil rides
We recommend 2–3 hours of training per day.
Most students achieve their first sustained foil rides within 6–8 hours of lessons.
